Sharing a special throwback episode of Tech Sambad this week! I'm reposting a conversation I had with the fantastic team at Many Mangoes, an organization dedicated to bridging AI knowledge gaps.
While this interview was recorded in mid-July (before the latest GPT-5 and Claude models), the core principles of how to approach AI remain more relevant than ever.
In our chat, we covered:
🔹 Practical Application over Theory: My journey has been less about building LLMs and more about using them to solve real-world problems—like creating a fitness tracker app for my alumni group with just a few prompts.
🔹 Finding Your AI's "Personality": I share my personal take on different models. For me, Claude excels at brainstorming and humor, while Gemini is my go-to for analytics. It's about finding the tool that matches your thinking style.
🔹 The "Wow" Moment of AI: I reflect on building a prototype for a benchmarking platform in minutes—a project that took a 20-person team six months to build back in 2010.
🔹 My 4 Rules for Working with AI:
Make AI part of everything you do.
Treat it like a partner or creature (Anthropomorphism).
Work with it like a "centaur"—a hybrid of human and AI.
Always be the human in the loop.
This conversation is a great reminder that the most important skill in the AI era is not just technical knowledge, but the curiosity to experiment and the wisdom to guide the technology.
A big thank you to Many Mangoes for the original conversation. Check them out to see the great work they do!
